Before Christmas, I forged five pieces of Thor’s hammers from stainless damascus steel. I think they turned out beautifully, so if you’re looking for a nice gift for someone, feel free to message me. FORGING BIG S-GUARD BOWIE – 2

Continuation on the large S-guard bowie. I had an injured finger, but it’s completely healed now, so over the past few weeks I’ve been working on the guard. It’s forged, fitted, roughly shaped, hardened, and ground. Everything looks fine at this stage, so next week I’ll start working on the final shaping and the volutes at the ends of the guard’s arms.

I’ve done several tests and haven’t decided yet on the final shape, though I do have a general idea. We’ll see how it turns out – if all goes well, I’ll share another photo from the process. Wish me luck, and see you soon!

SATISFIED CUSTOMER

This photo was sent to me by a satisfied customer, apologizing that the jewelry isn’t very visible. I told her it doesn’t matter at all – I have plenty of photos of jewelry, but there can never be too many photos of beautiful women! 🙂 Especially when they’re adorned with my jewelry. 🙂

FORGING BIG S-GUARD BOWIE

At the moment, besides jewelry, I’m mainly working on making a large, finely detailed knife. It’s going to be an “S-guard bowie.” I’m adding a few photos from the process. It’s quite demanding work that takes a lot of time… With breaks for smaller projects, I’ve been working on it since around April 😮

The blade is a twisted multi-bar “mosaic” damascus, and the total length is about 35 cm.

This time, I came up with “qite simple” fullers. 🙂 I started by marking them, then grinding almost up to the line, and after that shaping the grooves by hand with a Proxxon micro grinder, trying to make them as clean as possible already at that stage. The rough shaping is done; now I just need to fine-tune the irregularities, transitions, and the thinnest sections with small files, so there are no ripples and everything flows smoothly along the grind line. The blade is already hardened, so I can only work it with diamond tools, stones, and sandpapers – regular files wont work here.
