Knife inspired by the gaucho “bowie” knives, also known as facón. This type of knife is inseparably linked with the cattle herders gauchos in Argentina, Uruguay, and partly in southern Brazil. It is a kind of South American equivalent of a combination of a “work knife and an honorable weapon.” It served for slaughtering and butchering cattle, work in the field, and also as a personal weapon. The facón became a symbol of male honor. In the 19th century, duels between gauchos (“duelos criollos”) with facóns were common.
